For over 20 years, Pro Lift Crane Service has been a family-owned business that has been a part of the community in many ways. From the local Erie High School sponsorship, to the St. Jude monthly donation and Wounded Warrior Projects, our company has strived to be a part of something greater than us! Because of this, we had an amazing opportunity to participate in helping The Make-A-Wish Foundation make a little boy’s dream come true.
Pryce is a 7 year old boy who lives in Erie, CO and has Cerebral Palsy. His bright eyes and smile were contagious on the day that we got to meet him. Pryce struggles with mobility due to his condition, and his only reprieve is in the water. In the water, a person becomes almost weightless and mobility becomes easier. In their neighborhood there is a pool right up the street but it’s certainly not easy to get there. The water temperature is also an issue. Pryce gets cold quickly and doesn’t enjoy being in the water for very long.
When Make-A-Wish contacted the family to notify them that he had been granted a wish, they immediately started brainstorming on ideas that would be best for Pryce. Sure, a Disney vacation would be fun, but he wouldn’t be able to do everything there and it would only last a short period of time. Then it dawned on them, something he could use and benefit from every day—a swim spa!
Swim spas are designed to swim against a current that is created from a controlled flow at one end. The water strength can be adapted for any skill set or age depending on the workout desired. The water can also be heated as warm as you’d like, just like a hot tub making this a year-round option for young Pryce to enjoy and physically benefit from.
Pro Lift Crane Service was there to set the crane up in the street and reach over the house to set their brand-new swim spa in place. We worked in conjunction with a crew from Spa Brokers who graciously donated their labor to deliver and install. Along with the donation from Marquee of the actual swim spa, Pryce can now enjoy and benefit from this for years to come.
We would like to thank everyone involved that helped make Pryce’s wish a reality. We enjoyed being a part of this and look forward to helping make more wishes come true! Pryce, you’re an amazing young man and touched so many hearts in one day. Thank you for being you and allowing us to help with your dream.
